Minibus Lite can carry more weight than a Ford Transit before it's overloaded
The name Minibus Lite can sometimes conjure up images of the vehicle being light in strength or light in a negative way. Some people ask whether it can't carry much weight. To set the record straight we've put these figures together to let the facts speak for themselves. As you can see Minibus Lite is not light in its carrying abilities.
What do these terms mean?
Kerb weight:: The total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables such as motor oil, transmission oil, coolant, air conditioning refrigerant, and a full tank of fuel, while not loaded with either passengers or cargo
Fully laden: The weight of the minibus, a driver and 16 passengers.
Spare Payload: The difference between the GVW and fully laden weight. The amount of additional weight the minibus can take without it being overloaded
GVW: The GVW is the maximum operating weight/mass of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer including the vehicle's chassis, body, engine, engine fluids, fuel, accessories, driver, passengers and cargo but excluding that of any trailers.
